Am I overweight?

Your chronic disease risks are higher if your body mass index, or BMI, is 25 or greater. To calculate your BMI:

  • Multiply your body weight in pounds by 703
  • Divide that number by your height in inches
  • Divide by your height in inches once again

If you’re extremely muscular, BMI may not be a good indicator of whether you’re overweight, however.
